Discover Costa Rica's Best Kept Secret
For the Naturalist... |
| |
|
| It's exciting, it's special, it's something
new! Chachagua Rain Forest Hotel is nestled in the eastern foothills of
the Tilaran mountain range, one of the most biologically diverse areas in
all of Costa Rica. The project is a dream come true for Costa Rican owner
Carlos Salazar who, after 25 years in the travel business, decided to concentrate
his efforts on developing what for many years has been his own private farm
and secluded spot to just get away from it all. |

Rain Forest
The privately owned and maintained rain forest of
Chachagua is contiguous to the International Children's Rain Forest, which
in turn is neighbor to the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. This means
that Chachagua is part of a large protected area and helps provide habitat
for many of the threatened inhabitants of the rain forest such as tapir,
jaguar, ocelot, and peccaries.
Among the many still common species of animals that
are residents of the forest at Chachagua, the interested observer will
likely see white-faced monkeys, keel-billed toucans, blue morpho butterflies,
bright red poison-dart frogs, and much, much more. |
