Softly laying on a mountain top, between the Tenorio and Miravalles Volcanos and surrounded by primary forest reserves and the Tenorio Volcano National Park, Celeste Mountain Lodge invites you to share their pristine natural environment, unique contemporary design and ambiance, responsible tourism philosophy, the outstanding views of both the Tenorio and Miravalles volcanos, innovative New Costa Rican cuisine, their Tropical Hot Baths, all offered with efficient and friendly service.

The area around the Tenorio Volcano, which also includes the astonishing River Celeste, and the Miravalles Volcano is one of the greenest, still relatively untouched, and off the beaten path areas of Costa Rica, yet easily accessible with excellent roads.

The Celeste Mountain Lodge sits on 7 total hectares, 4 of which are protected primary forest. Deep jungles surround the lodge on three sides because neighboring properties also consist of protected areas.

The wildlife is everywhere; monkeys (howler and white-face), an extensive bird species list (toucans are seen each day at the lodge), butterflies, and large mammals such as tapir whose footprints are often found around the property.

The views from the Lodge are impressive.  The Cerro Montezuma (third hump of the Tenorio volcano) faces the property as a massive green wall, sometimes mysteriously fading in a passing mist.

On the west, the 5 imposing peaks of the Miravalles volcano theatrically curtain the horizon. In the valley below lies the small and peaceful village of Bijagua.

The mountain top offers year-long spring-like weather with temperatures between 18° and 30° Celsius always caressed by a gentle breeze. The region is humid with average annual rainfall of 3,800 mm, the summer (dry) months being February to May, August and October.

Celeste Mountain Lodge boasts a very innovative, contemporary design, altering traditional parameters in hotel architecture, opening walls and spaces, blending the different areas and inviting the beauty of the surroundings into the building itself.

The lodge has been designed under bio-climatic standards in order to adapt to the local conditions and under our Responsible Tourism philosophy, offering functional yet comfortable accommodations.
