"Kekoldy" BRI-BRI Indigenous Reserve |
On this tour, we will first visit the Green Iguana farm and medicinal plant garden at the Kekoldy Indigenous Reserve. This reserve is a place where a small indigenous family is dedicated to the reproduction of the Green Iguana, a species that is endangered, but thanks to initiatives like these, is recovering.
Then we will go to the Cacao house, where an indigenous woman will teach you show they produce chocolate and you can try different flavors while listening to a the woman tell us about her life.
The cacao in the Bribri culture is very important, since they use it for purification, food and medicine.
Our third stop is to visit a family inside the indigenous reserve, we will go into their houses and you could have direct contact with the Bribri culture, there, they make artesian goods where tourists can shop.
Our last stop is to arrive at the community of Suretka on the margins of the TELIRE River, a place where the market of the reserve has its products (plantains, bananas, cacao, oranges, etc.) These products are completely organic. Here, we will have a tropical fruit snack. The tour ends in a typical restaurant of the area.
