You will be picked up at your hotel and driven to the village of Cahuita where you will meet your captain and guide for the boat ride to the reef and a two hour snorkeling tour around the various reefs of Cahuita National Park.  Afterwards, time to relax on the beach and have a snack of tropical fruit.

 

There is a scheduled 1 ½  hour guided hike through the National Park featuring beautiful beaches, coral reefs, and a tropical rainforest where you can easily observe many species of monkeys, sloths, frogs, butterflies and more.

 

The coral reef of this park includes about 240 natural habitats.  There are 123 different species of fish, 44 species of crustaceans, 140 shellfish and 1,281 various algae that so far have been identified. You also can observe 35 different coral species such as fire coral, and the red and black coral which is unique to this area. At the end of the hike, you will be taken back to your hotel in Puerto Viejo.
