WHITE WATER RAFTING

SAVEGRE RIVER

This full day adventure takes you to the Rio Savegre for a 2 hours guided scenic Rafting class II & III in rafts for 6 people or in 2 man inflatable kayaks. There are great swimming holes and a large variety of birds (egrets, toucans, osprey, kingfishers, and cormorants). Then we will stop in a Ecoturism Lodge "El Silencio" for a "Tico Style" lunch in a thatched roof restaurant with great views and a nature path. Afterwards we head to some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area with many blooming heliconias in this shady garden of Eden.

Requirements: Good for adults and children over 8 years of age who are relatively fit for  paddling. Wear or bring sturdy sandals or water shoes, a bathing suit, sun block, bug spray, a towel, and if possible an extra change of clothes.

Includes: Round trip transportation, a hot breakfast and lunch, bilingual guides, safety kayakers, all equipment needed, security, snacks and drinks.

 
Rafting Class III & IV

NARANJO RIVER

A Class III & IV half day challenge for more experienced paddlers. The Naranjo drops steeply from the mountains above Quepos, though a beautiful jungle gorge and takes you on a wild ride to sea level passing nearby farmlands and palm plantations. Water levels can rise quickly on this river upping the difficulty and adrenaline levels, so rafters should be physically fit and adventurous.

Requirements: We strongly recommend that adventurers (adults and children over age 10) be physically fit and prepared for Class IV rapids. Wear or bring water sandals or sturdy water shoes, a bathing suit, sunscreen, bug spray, a towel, and if possible a change of clothes.

NARANJO RIVER CHORRO SECTION
(CLASS IV+)

Exploding from the hills, just 35 minutes northeast from the Quepos / Manuel Antonio area, breathes the start Costa Rica’s best commercial run. Chorro section starts in the mountain village of Esquipulas. Our route carves deep into the river’s exposed bedrock, making this thrilling section of the Naranjo River an exception to the geological youth of Costa Rica. This 3km canyon delights the adventure seeker with fun drops and steep runs through 12 technical narrows. Be ready!! to bounce and squeeze through the gorge’s tight rock walls, maneuver and carve around massive boulders and bends, and sweep down drops through challenging unforgettable chutes. Within the 2 mile stretch we will tackle rapids such as,“Tail of the Dragon”, “ Chorro” and “Asteric & Obelisc”.

Between runs we have the opportunity to witness untouched tropical forest yielding various species of birds such as the Chestnut Mandible Toucan, Aracaris, and several kinds of Kingfishers. What to bring: Swimsuit and / or shorts of a quick drying material; towel; sun screen (spf-15 or higher) complete change of clothes. Rubber soled shoes that stay on and can get wet. Strap on sandals, tennis shoes or similar. Flip flops are not an option.

Includes: Transfers from and to the Manuel Antonio / Quepos area; snack (fruit, juices, water, cookies); all the specialized gear needed for the activity (helmets, PFD’s, paddles); professional, bilingual & friendly guides.
